Description of Case: The patient underwent a routine screening mammogram that showed an abnormality. Her mammographer suggested that she sit for an ultrasound to help clarify what the abnormality was. He concluded that the abnormality was a lymph node. However, he did not consider that the mammogram was not consistent with a lymph node. By the time the breast cancer was diagnosed 11 months later, it had spread aggressively.
