#1 Call the police.

#2 Exchange information.

Gather the driver’s details, such as full name, address, ID number, license plate number, insurance company name, policy number, and VIN number. If you have your phone, take pictures of their insurance card, driver’s license, and other related paperwork. While exchanging information, take pictures and video of damages to the car, your motorcycle, and visible injuries.

#3 Notify your insurance company.

Once you have had a chance to calm down and settle into a quiet and safe area, contact your insurance company. Provide factual statements about how the accident happened from your perspective. Give your insurance agent the other driver’s information and any evidence you have.
